CIDIP/ICPME 2026 to celebrate its 30th edition with a special event honouring its legacy

The 30th International Congress on Project Management and Engineering (CIDIP/ICPME 2026), to be held from 7 to 9 July 2026 at the Universitat Jaume I – Escola Superior de Tecnologia i Ciències Experimentals (ESTCE) in Castellón de la Plana, will commemorate a very special milestone: the 30th edition of the Congress.

Over the years, CIDIP/ICPME has become one of the leading international meeting points for researchers, professionals, companies and institutions involved in project management and project engineering.

This commemorative edition aims to recognise the legacy built by generations of AEIPRO members, researchers and practitioners whose contributions have shaped the growth, prestige and international standing of the Congress.

Since the first international edition was launched, more than 6,000 scientific papers have been presented, reflecting the remarkable number of researchers who have left their mark on the Congress.

The anniversary celebration will take place on 7 July from 18:00 onwards and will feature an innovative and participatory activity designed to combine collective memory with an inside perspective on the Congress’s evolution.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear first-hand accounts from some of AEIPRO’s most experienced members, who will share key moments from the history of the Congress as well as their reflections on the development of project management in Spain over the past three decades.

More than a celebration, the event will serve as an exercise in intergenerational knowledge transfer, connecting the experience accumulated over thirty years with the new generations of researchers and professionals who are now beginning their own careers.

Registration is required and is available through the Congress Private Area (CPA).

A Technical Visit to a Unique Infrastructure

The programme of parallel activities will begin that same day at 16:00 with a technical visit to the Universitat Jaume I utility tunnel network, an innovative infrastructure that integrates the campus’s main service networks within a single accessible underground space.

Guided by the Technical Office for Works and Projects of Universitat Jaume I, registered delegates will have the opportunity to explore this unique facility, designed to facilitate the maintenance, inspection and expansion of water supply, sanitation, irrigation, fire protection, electricity, communications and security networks without interfering with the university’s daily activities.

Castellón de la Plana Welcomes Congress Participants

The programme will continue with a guided tour of Castellón de la Plana from 20:00 onwards, offering delegates the opportunity to discover some of the most representative landmarks of the host city.

Cultural event

On Wednesday, 8 July, at 19:30, the hall of the ESTCE building will host a cultural event organised in collaboration with the Castellón City Council and the Dávalos-Fletcher Foundation.

Participants will enjoy a tasting of traditional savoury ‘cocas’, one of the province’s most representative culinary specialities, as well as a performance of traditional music and dance by the Agrupació Folklòrica El Millars.

The show will feature traditional dances and musical pieces, with special emphasis on compositions closely linked to the city of Castellón, providing delegates with an authentic experience of the region’s cultural heritage.

Through these activities, CIDIP/ICPME 2026 not only celebrates thirty years of history but also reaffirms its commitment to creating spaces for networking, knowledge exchange and the strengthening of the professional community that has made this landmark edition possible.
