Project Management for Sustainable Development
The International Congress on Project Management and Engineering promotes the integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across its different topic areas, recognising the important role that project management and engineering can play in addressing today’s economic, environmental and social challenges.
This commitment has been reflected in previous editions of CIDIP, where authors have been asked to identify the Sustainable Development Goals to which their work contributes, establishing a direct connection between research and the global challenges addressed by the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Contributions have identified at least one and up to two SDGs, incorporating the corresponding official icons to make their contribution to sustainable development more visible.
This cross-cutting perspective extends across the different CIDIP topic areas, from energy transition, sustainable construction and environmental management to digitalisation, territorial development, education, innovation and project management. In this way, CIDIP encourages dialogue between research, professional practice and sustainable development, promoting projects that combine technical excellence and innovation with consideration of their environmental, economic and social impact.
