BEYOND THE CONGRESS
Lugo, Galicia: Roman heritage in north-western Spain
Located in Galicia, in north-western Spain, Lugo brings together remarkable Roman heritage, a lively historic centre and a rich culinary tradition. Its defining landmark is the Roman Walls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Dating from the late Roman period, their complete circuit still surrounds the old town and offers a distinctive way to explore the city from above.
For CIDIP 2027 participants, Lugo offers an experience that extends beyond the Congress sessions. Pedestrian streets, welcoming squares and traditional tapas bars invite visitors to discover Galician food and local life, continue conversations with colleagues and enjoy a city where history is part of everyday life.
Make the most of CIDIP 2027 this July by extending your stay in Galicia, one of Spain’s most distinctive regions, where Atlantic breezes offer a refreshing contrast to the summer heat. Discover green landscapes, spectacular coastlines, historic towns and outstanding local food—a rewarding way to combine your Congress experience with a summer escape in north-western Spain.

A meeting place for scientific exchange
CIDIP 2027 will take place at the Escola Politécnica Superior de Enxeñaría, on the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela’s Campus Terra in Lugo, bringing together engineering education, research and professional practice.
The School offers degrees in agricultural, civil and forestry engineering, landscape and robotics, alongside a Master’s in Project Management. Its research spans sustainable construction, geospatial technologies and natural resource management.
Twenty years after hosting the Congress in 2007, Lugo will once again welcome the international project management and engineering community to share knowledge and build new collaborations.
