271 scientific papers strengthen the international standing of the International Congress on Project Management and Engineering

The scientific programme of the 30th International Congress on Project Management and Engineering (CIDIP / ICPME 2026) includes 224 papers and 47 posters, confirming the strong interest generated by this edition and the Congress’s growing international reputation.

Of the accepted papers, 156 will be delivered as on-site oral presentations during the Congress’s parallel sessions, while 68 will be presented online, a format that facilitates the participation of international researchers and broadens the event’s global reach.

In addition, the Congress, which will take place from 7 to 9 July, features 20 papers presented entirely in English as part of the International Seminar on Project Management and Engineering (ISoPM), further reinforcing its international dimension. The seminar will also include several keynote lectures and a round-table discussion exploring the benefits of being part of the IPMA ecosystem, as well as the value of its international standards and globally recognised certification system.

Thematic areas

The Congress is structured around ten thematic areas, reflecting the diversity and multidisciplinary nature of project management and engineering.
The areas attracting the highest number of contributions are:

* Project Management and Direction
* Product, Process Engineering and Industrial Design
* Civil Engineering, Urban Planning and Territorial Organization. Construction and Architecture

These are complemented by contributions in:

* Environmental Engineering and Natural Resource Management
* Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies
* Sustainable Development and Development Cooperation Projects
* Information and Communication Technologies. Software Engineering
* Risk Management and Security
* Educational Innovation in Project Management and Engineering
* Good Practices and Business Cases

This broad thematic representation will address some of today’s most significant challenges in project management, including sustainability, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, industrial innovation, and the management of complex infrastructure projects.

An online room to expand international participation

The Congress will once again feature a dedicated online room, where virtual presentations of accepted papers will take place.

This initiative enables researchers and professionals who are unable to travel to Castellón to participate actively in the Congress, promoting international knowledge exchange and ensuring strong participation from numerous countries. Registered delegates will also be able to follow the opening keynote delivered by Eveline Lemke and the closing keynote by Elena Moral Grande through this online platform.

The combination of on-site and virtual sessions further consolidates the Congress’s hybrid format, expanding the scientific reach of CIDIP / ICPME while fostering collaboration among researchers from universities, institutions, and companies worldwide.

The Congress is jointly organised by the Universitat Jaume I – Escola Superior de Tecnologia i Ciències Experimentals (ESTCE) and AEIPRO–IPMA Spain, bringing together researchers and professionals from 20 countries.
